Du screen recorder lag11/6/2023 ![]() Other than your video driver, I do not see any problems with the results of the "inxi -Fxzd" command. I think there is a new Nvidia driver 370 available that should work fine, but it depends upon your specific video card (yours is a Nvidia GeForce GT 550M). I do not currently have a Nvidia graphics card, although they are supposed to work well, but I know that there were some issues recently with the Nvidia drivers (bad driver 367.57?), so you might want to search for and read in this forum regarding Nvidia to make sure that the current Nvidia drivers are okay now. There is a reliable PPA for providing the most current and best Nvidia drivers that you might want to install first before going into the "Driver Manager" to install and apply a new video driver, see articles below. You might consider making sure that all the updates in the Linux Mint Update Manager are installed, then go in to your "Driver Manager", and select the "Recommended" video driver, apply that, then reboot (restart) your computer, and you should be alright. You have two video cards installed, or a "hybrid" video card, Intel and Nvidia, and the Nvidia card does not have the correct video driver installed. See section "Display Server" in quote box below and the word "Failed". Well, you do not have your video driver installed correctly. ![]() Sensors: System Temperatures: cpu: 55.0C mobo: 55.0C gpu: 42.0 RAID: No RAID devices: /proc/mdstat, md_mod kernel module present Rev: 1.00 dev-links: cdrom, cdrw, dvd, dvdrwĪudio: yes dvd: yes rw: cd-r,cd-rw,dvd-r,dvd-ram state: running Optical: /dev/sr0 model: MATSHITA BD-RE UJ240AF Network: Card-1: Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 Ĭard-2: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controllerĭriver: r8169 v: 2.3LK-NAPI port: 2000 bus-ID: 0a:00.0ĭrives: HDD Total Size: 500.1GB (48.6% used) Sound: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture v: k4.4.0-51-generic GLX Version: 3.0 Mesa 11.2.0 Direct Rendering: YesĪudio: Card Intel 6 Series/C200 Series Family High Definition Audio Controller ![]() Resolution: Renderer: Mesa DRI Intel Sandybridge Mobile Graphics: Card-1: Intel 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics ControllerĬard-2: NVIDIA GF106M bus-ID: 01:00.0ĭisplay Server: X.Org 1.18.3 drivers: intel (unloaded: fbdev, vesa) FAILED: nouveau Mobo: Dell model: 0K4H3G v: FAB1 Bios: Dell v: A11 date: ĬPU: Dual core Intel Core i7-2620M (-HT-MCP-) cache: 4096 KBįlags: (lm nx sse sse2 sse3 sse4_1 sse4_2 ssse3 vmx) bmips: 10775Ĭlock speeds: max: 3400 MHz 1: 811 MHz 2: 833 MHz 3: 908 MHz Machine: System: Dell (portable) product: Dell System XPS L702X Here is the config info that was requested. I rolled out compression and am still having issues. It struggles, especially recording video of a video (of course), and with some things it just won't work, but from the partial information you provided, your computer should be able to handle this.Īssuming, there are no video driver issues with your setup, there are also configuration options to improve performance of various applications from screen recorders to video players and browsers, like using "openGL", using multiple "Threads", reducing video recording format size, choosing a better video output format, etc.Ĭan you be more specific about what you are doing? For example, recording desktop while playing a video through VLC, or through a web browser (which one), or recording webcam, etc. Even on my ancient underpowered 32-bit single core computer with only 2gb of system memory (Ram), it works. So far, SimpleScreenRecorder (SSR) is the best desktop recorder (screencasting) application I have tried. If you run " inxi -Fxzd" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information. It would help to know more about your system setup. I just read your post and the good replies to it.
